Rental Assistance
MHAH's Heartland Housing Initiative expands housing options for persons with mental illness and substance abuse addictions through subcontracts with Missouri Department of Mental Health (MoDMH), Kansas Department of Commerce and Housing (KDOC&H), and Kansas Department of Social Rehabilitation Services (SRS).
MHAH provides rent subsidy vouchers, information and referral, advocacy, and limited conflict mediation between tenant, landlord and service provider.
Shelter Plus Care
- Eligibility: Missouri residents who are homeless and who have chronic mental illness, substance abuse addictions, or developmental disabilities.
- Rent Subsidy: Provides housing and supportive services on a long-term basis for homeless persons with disabilities.
- Referral: For referral assistance contact your community mental health center case manager.
