Mental Health Association of the Heartland provides information and referral to persons with mental illness, family members, and the general public.
Mental Health Screening Campaigns
MHAH distributes literature and pamphlets at health fairs, community events, and to individuals requesting information. The information is provided from a wide variety of sources (National Institute of Mental Health, National Mental Health Association, Depression and Bi-Polar Support Alliance, and other national organizations).
MHAH has been selected as a site for the Campaign for America's Mental Health. MHAH is also a National Institute of Mental Health Constituency Outreach and Education Partner and previously was a site for the Primary Care Initiative Campaign and the Anxiety Disorders Education Campaign.

Self-Help and Support Group Directory
Mental Health Association of the Heartland promotes a network of self-help and support groups throughout the bi-state metropolitan area. This includes publicizing group contact and meeting information, providing assistance in establishing new groups, and referral to existing groups. Mental Health Association of the Heartland publishes and markets "In the Company of Others", a comprehensive area-wide directory of these services. MHAH's information and referral telephone service can be reached at (913) 281-2221, ext 115. from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
