Teen Suicide Prevention
MHAH offers a teen suicide prevention program that targets teens, parents, school personnel, and other adults who work with and care about youth.
MHAH sponsors the A.N.S.W.E.R. Network (Adolescents Never Suicide When Everyone Responds), a coalition of church, community, law enforcement, and school and teen leaders from the greater Kansas City area. This community-based initiative includes:
- Youth trainings and classroom presentations,
- Seminars and workshops for parents, school staff, youth workers, and mental health professionals,
- Community presentations, and a
- Research initiative.
Trainings and presentations address risk factors, warning signs, pathways for seeking help, and resources available for youth. Specifically the trainings address how to recognize and respond if faced with a youth who may be considering suicide. For more information about teen suicide prevention and A.N.S.W.E.R.
